Dual Hose Stream 120

The Dual Hose Stream 120 fire shutters are a reliable and high-performing fire protection solution that meets stringent testing and accreditation requirements. This fire shutter features two layers that seamlessly roll down like a traditional steel door, providing a lightweight yet highly effective barrier that can withstand extreme heat, fire, and smoke.

The steel-textile fabric is made from wire-inserted woven glass fiber with a 2-hour coating, tested to UL and NFPA standards for fire resistance. Multiple sizes are available to accommodate various curtain drop heights, with a weighted bottom bar to prevent deflection. These fire shutters offer top-of-the-line performance and design for optimal fire safety protection.

Dual Layer Fire Walls for 2-Hour Fire Protection

The operation of the Dual Hose Stream 120 fire shutters is carefully designed for efficient and controlled deployment in emergency situations. Under normal conditions, the fabric fire shutter is held in the retracted position by the motors operating at a voltage. When a fire alarm signal is received, the controller removes the supply voltage, causing the shutters to descend in a controlled manner. A dynamic braking system in the motor-control circuit regulates the speed of the descent. Both fire curtains will drop simultaneously.

To retract the shutters, the control panel supplies voltage to the motor controller, and the motors drive the shutters back up. A current limiting circuit reduces the voltage and current when the bottom bar hits the housing, holding the shutters in the retracted position. Limit switches are not used to control the upper position of the curtain.

In case of a power failure, an integral standby battery automatically switches the supply to keep the shutters in the housing. The Control Panel (CP) plays a crucial role, providing an AC supply to the motors to hold the shutters retracted during normal operation. If smoke is detected, the fire alarm system triggers the CP to control the descent of the motors in a controlled manner. Ultimately, the shutters open upon a fire signal and close during normal operation. The operation of the Dual Hose Stream 120 fire shutters provides a swift and effective response to fire emergencies.

Technical Information About This Product

  • The dual curtain is tested and evaluated to the ASTM E119 Test Standard with Hose Stream Test (ASTM E2226) in accordance with IBC 903.3.1.1.
  • 2 Hour Tested To ASTM E119 With Hose Stream Test (ASTM E2226)
  • The head box is made of durable galvanized steel and incorporates removable cover plates for easy maintenance access.
  • The roller assembly includes a motor and gearbox with a sealed heavy-duty ball bearing assembly for smooth operation.
  • Side guide assemblies are constructed of steel channels with pressure-retaining tabs, and the finish is a factory-galvanized steel enclosure with clean metal surfaces for paint adhesion.
  • When 25% of the opening in a firewall is exceeded, then an ASTM E119 (Ul 263) listed and labeled assembly is required in compliance with Ibc Section 707.6 Exception 3.
